2020 Leadership - How To Vote

2020 Leadership - How To Vote

In order to vote, you’ll need to fill out the two forms sent to you by mail as part of your voting package. This includes your ballot and your declaration form. You’ll also need a photocopy of a piece of eligible ID, the criteria for which can be found here.

The 2020 Conservative Leadership Election is a ranked ballot election. That means you can list your choices, in order of preference, by filling in the bubbles. You can choose 1, 2, 3, or all 4 candidates by filling in the entire circle corresponding to their name or names and ranking. Once you have completed filling out your ballot, place and seal your ballot in the included secrecy envelope. Avoid marking the outside of your ballot to preserve its secrecy.

You’ll notice that your secrecy envelope has a clear window for your riding number. Please ensure the riding number on your ballot lines up with the window on the secrecy envelope.

Your ballot is the only item you put in the secrecy envelope.

Next, you need to sign your declaration form and tear it off. Only the signed portion needs to be returned – this goes into the prepaid return envelope.

Finally, you’ll need to send in a photocopy of your ID which must contain both your name, your address, and a photo.

If you do not have a piece of ID that includes all of your name, address, and photo, you can also provide photocopies of two pieces of ID – that together include your photo, your name, and your address.

The detailed criteria is available in the link above.

Now, with your sealrecy envelope, your signed declaration form and the photocopy of your eligible ID, place all of these in the prepaid return envelope.

Drop it off in the mail, and you’re done! Please note that postal ballots must be received prior to 5 PM Eastern Daylight Time on August 21, 2020. We cannot process any ballot packages received after that.

With this in mind, thank you for voting for the next Conservative Leader!
